With more than 30 years of experience as Assistant Professor of Nursing and over 5 years as Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certified, I have extensive background in the areas of Medical/Surgical Nursing, Oncology Nursing with an on-going focus on management and Symptoms management of cancer patients and Hematological Disorders. I have a Masters in Family Health Nursing (Care of Families throughout the lifespan); Instruction in Introduction to Professional Nursing (in class and online instruction), Adult Health/Medical/Surgical I (didactic and clinical), Psych/Mental Health, Population-Focused Nursing (Community Health) and Nursing Management instruction. Currently, as a Family Nurse Practitioner, I have several years experience in the Advanced Practice Nursing setting; as well as Prescriptive Authority within the State of Louisiana. I possess the skills necessary to interact with patients, as well as other clinicians in support of the care and treatment of disease processes, thereof. I also have experience with treating chronic medical problems of clients, as well as counseling and education to promote health behaviors; and modify risk factors in clients; participation in and support of health and wellness initiatives, health education and screening of patients across the lifespan.
